At Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics, the premier esthetics school in Georgia, our modern, holistic approach to client-centered esthetics training integrates the foundational sciences with the essential skills required to analyze specific needs and confidently execute a full range of skin care services.

Introduction to Esthetics

This course is comprised of classroom instruction including lectures and hands-on practice sessions with your classmates. It is designed to introduce you to the field of esthetics.  It prepares you to perform basic facial, and add-on services and provides you with the foundation necessary for advanced study. The course includes Career Opportunities, History of Esthetics, Professional Image, Life Skills, Communicating for Success, Ethics, State Board Rules and Regulations, OSHA Standards, Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology, Infection Control, Skin Physiology, Skin Analysis, Skin Care Products, and Liability and Risk Management,  Introduction to Basic Facial and Hand and Arm Massage.

Note: A student will not be allowed to progress from the Introduction to Esthetics module until they have completed ALL hours of training. Students with outstanding Intro hours or missing 30% of the module hours will be withdrawn. Students will be required to request re-enrollment per the policy.

Skin Care

Prerequisite: Introduction to Esthetics, Complete nationally recognized, hands-on CPR Training.

This course comprises classroom instruction including lectures and hands-on practice sessions with your classmates.  The course is designed to further educate the esthetics student about how to be a Healthy Professional, Chemistry & Chemical Safety, and Electricity & Safety pertaining to using machines commonly used in the Aesthetics practice.  Liability and Risk Management to perform Microdermabrasion, LED, and Tinting. The course includes classes on Skin Care for Men, Facial Devices & Technology, Anatomy and Physiology, Tinting, Waxing and Threading Hair Removal, Makeup, and Camouflage Makeup.

Spa

Prerequisite: Introduction to Esthetics, Skin Care, and Complete nationally recognized, hands-on CPR Training.

This course is comprised of classroom instruction including lectures and hands-on practice sessions with your classmates.  The course is designed to teach total body esthetics services,  The Beauty Business, Tinting, Spa Treatments (Body Exfoliation,  Aroma Wrap, and Cellulite Wrap), Reflexology, Advanced Skin Treatments,  Make Up Application, Waxing and Threading Hair Removal, Anatomy and Physiology, Aromatherapy, Ayurveda and practical finals for Hair Removal.

Clinical Esthetics

Prerequisite: Introduction to Esthetics, Skin Care, Spa, and Complete nationally recognized, hands-on CPR Training.

This course provides an overview of what can be expected in clinical esthetics settings. Students can expect to develop a deeper understanding of skin analysis, age management treatments, medical terminology, and charting, chemical exfoliators, and peels, and a more advanced evaluation of skin care products and ingredients.  The Clinical Esthetics course includes the following classes: Advanced Cosmetic Chemistry, Diseases, and Disorders, Pharmacology, Camouflage Makeup, Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Pre and Post-Operative Treatments, Hair Removal, Reflexology, Tinting, and Makeup and your practical finals in the following areas: Makeup Essentials and Tinting.

Advanced Esthetics

Prerequisite: Introduction to Esthetics, Skin Care, Spa, Clinical Esthetics, and Complete nationally recognized, hands-on CPR Training.

This course comprises classroom instruction including lectures and hands-on practice sessions with your classmates.  The course is designed to teach Introduction to Oncology Esthetics, Soft Skills, First Aid, Theory of Lasers, The Beauty Business, Lash Extensions, Tinting, Microdermabrasion, LED, Micro-current, Camouflage Makeup, MakeupWaxing and Threading Hair Removal, and Anatomy and Physiology.

Clinic Internship

Prerequisite: Introduction to Esthetics, Skin Care, Spa, Clinical Esthetics, Advanced Esthetics, and Complete nationally recognized, hands-on CPR Training.

Classes unique to this module are Makeup Essentials, Tint and Hair Removal Practical Finals, State Board Preparation, Career planning, Advanced Topics and Treatments, and Clinic Internship allowing students the opportunity to hone and fine-tune all theory and practical skills learned in the program in a Spa setting.

State Authorization Disclosure: The Esthetician Skin Care Program meets the State of Georgia’s Aesthetician minimum requirements of 1,000 hours. Our program, once completed, qualifies students to sit for the licensure exam for Georgia. The school has not made a determination whether the school’s curriculum meets the State Educational requirements for licensure or certification in the remaining 49 states.
